All of the other managers you mentioned managed multiple people at a time. Sherri only had one person under her tutelage at any given time. I can think of at least 10 wrestlers that Heenan, Fuji, Hart, or Slick managed.
TNA Randy Savage wasn't exactly in good shape. He dished out a dozen punches and pinned Jeff Jarrett by reversing a sunset flip. His in-ring TNA career lasted all of 90 seconds....180 seconds if you count his appearance on Impact.
I loved WWECW. It was a great place for new guys to show their talents. The only reason it was saddled as a failure was because it was called ECW. Give it a different name and it wouldn't be ragged on so much.
Does anybody writing on this thread actually remember what the Genius contributed to wrestling?........very little. He would read poems on frisbees, throw them to the crowd, then pull a Horowitz. When he turned heel, his greatest claims to fame were getting his haircut by Brutus Beefcake...
Jim Ross was not a WWF creation. He floundered for a few years before becoming Good Ole JR. If Joey Styles truly had an aspirations of becoming the voice of the WWE, he would have sucked up his disenfranchisement with the WWE style of announcing and stuck with it. I don't see Joey coming back...
Kane's debut had a threw him right into a main event feud with the Undertaker. Chris Jericho's debut was fun to watch but didn't really mean anything in the long run.
Kane didn't cost Undertaker the title....he cost him a title shot.
I would love to see another Sing versus Flair matchup. Will it be as good as some of there previous encounters? .... obviously not. Would it be a nice touch of nostalgia? ..... absolutely.
Wrestlemania 19 is the best wrestlemania. It had 5 main event level matches. Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho - Shawn's return to Wrestlemania. Triple H vs Booker T - Great big match feel to it! Hulk Hogan vs Vince McMahon. The Rock vs Steve Austin. Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Aangle.
Daniel Bryan's ideal match at Wrestlemania is a 3 way for the US title with Sheamus and John Morrison. The three of them have been trading wins. It wouldn't take much to build to a good match at Mania.
I don't think we will see Rock again until Wrestlemania. He may have said he's back, but he's absolutely not.
I'm more interested in being dissappointed in 2/21/11 than I am in being dissappointed that the Rock won't be on Raw.
Ten years ago Alex Wright did not make a difference in professional wrestling. Why would he make a difference now? As much as I love his ridiculous dance, I'm not going to get nostalgic over it. He didn't have the talent a decade ago. I'm sure he hasn't improved.
