Going on 10 years with WrestleZone
Miss Elizabeth

"The first lady of the WWF," the late Miss Elizabeth is best known for managing Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan, both separately and collectively as the "Mega-Powers." She was also the "Helen of Troy" of the WWF, being a major lynchpin in two major Wrestlemania Main Event feuds: Hogan / Savage at WM5, and Savage / Flair at WM8.

Sunny

Some call her the first true "Diva," as she was the first female manager who brought sexuality to the table and truly drew in the male fans. She was also adept on the microphone, managing such tag teams as The Bodydonnas.

Sensational Sherri

Cut from an old-school mold, Sherri was a heel diva who managed Ted DiBiase and Shawn Michaels, among many others. She is also known for singing Shawn Michaels' first singles entrance theme song.

Sable

Another blonde bombshell, Sable entered as the manager of Hunter Hearst Helmsley before joining husband Marc Mero. Because of her fan reaction, the WWF brought back the WWF Women's Title, and also led to the WWF hiring more women.

Chyna

Starting off as the bodyguard of DX, Chyna was best known for her over all ring ability, and for being the only female to win a major WWF Title after defeating Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental Belt.

Lita

The moonsaulting, hurracanwhateveritising manager of Sunday Night Heat mainstay Essa Rios, Lita was one of the WWF's most athletic divas, winning several Women's Titles and managing the Hardys for parts of the 90's and early '00's. She is the first diva to ever have neck fusion surgery.

Trish Stratus

This Canadian Beauty was a fitness model who entered the WWF as manager of T&A (Test and Albert), but after training with Finlay, Stratus (along with Lita) redefined the WWF Diva. She had several Women's Title reigns in addition to keeping sexuality on the program.

Torrie Wilson

Torrie is best known for being the first WWE Diva to ever pose nude in Playboy, and her co-cover with Sable made them both the first to do it twice. Despite back issues, Torrie refused to quit, learning to wrestle and becoming quite adept before finally having to retire.

Stephanie McMahon

A former Women's champion in her own right, Steph is known for her position of power in the McMahon empire, and for her relationship with HHH. She has been a manager, a wrestler, a GM, an exec, etc.

Maria

One of the hottest Divas in recent years, Maria started as a backstage interviewer with a ditzy streak, until her charming and humorous manner caused her to be so over with the fans that she started training to wrestle, and has also managed Santino Marella.

For me, this comes down to 3 people.

Miss Elizabeth
I think "The first lady of the WWF" as her nickname says it all. Has any other woman in the business ever been involved with anywhere near the amount of talent she has? The Hogan/Savage feud was my favourite Hogan feud, and she played a major part in that. Looking back, her involvement in the business is very underrated.

Stephanie McMahon
Mrs. World Wrestling Entertainment. I have nothing but praise for this woman. She had a start most of us don't in life, being the daughter of Vince McMahon. But she's one of the few people in the world that don't try and get by just on that. Not only is she a great wrestler for the womens division, she has a great character outside the ring. She's a brilliant GM, and has always been someone the crowd have related to. She has great skill, as well as being beautiful. She deserves all the praise she gets. But I can't give her the title of 'Diva' of all time.

Lita
I just cannot vote against her. Lita has WWE Diva written all over her. She was different - her time with the Hardyz was amazing. I've never seen 3 people work as well together as Matt, Jeff, and Lita did. She had sex appeal, and she had the style women don't usually have. And she made them work together. Every guy wanted to date her, and every girl wanted to be here.

Only two I had to pick from were Trish and Lita, and I went with the redhead. To begin with, Liz was too classy to be lumped in with the divas. Also she had the wrestling ability of a frying pan, so as beautiful as she was, she's out.

Sunny was the girl that every guy my age got over his fear of girls with. She was so far beyond sexy that a word hasn't been invented for it yet. However again, no wrestling to back it up.

Next up is Sherri, who might be the original diva. Has the looks and the talent, but I can't vote for her because at Summerslam 90, the way she looked literally gave me nightmares for a week.

Sable is an interesting choice in that at the time we saw her as a great wrestler, but in hindsight Maria could give her a run for her money. She knew one move, and although that powerbomb was impressive, she didn't have much else. Her looks carry her for the most part, but her heel turn always sucked for me. Close, but others have done it better.

Chyna I'm not convinced is female so that's a no.

Stephanie, I'm sorry Bex but she couldn't wrestle a stuffed animal and win. Not sure if you were watching at the time, but for the most part one of the McMahon-Helmsley cronies would help her win. I don't ever recall her actually winning a match on her own. As stunningly beautiful as she is, she's a McMahon, not a diva.

Torrie and Maria I'll group together and say pass me the Playboy, because I'd rahter read the articles than watch either of them wrestle. When your signature move is a stink face, I don't care how good you look, that doesn't work for me.

Now we have two left-Trish and Lita. When two women can main event a Raw, and have it be hyped as the actual main event and not just the last match before a segment, that is something that you may never see again. These two carried the women's division for so many years, but I have to pick one, and I've always liked Redheads best, so that's my pick.

Frying pans cause damage, kid. Aside from that obvious teflon snub, you're right - and I'll take it one step further. She couldn't work the mic. She was a smile and a few tears in a $2,000 dress. VERY classy, but VERY one dimensional.

Sunny was the girl that every guy my age got over his fear of girls with. She was so far beyond sexy that a word hasn't been invented for it yet. However again, no wrestling to back it up.

Sunny got you over fear of girls? This shows the age difference between us. I got over adolesence by locking my door and watching "The Secret World of Alex Mack" on Nickelodeon. 5 years later, "10 Things I Hate About You" reaffirmed why Larissa Olenyk was so instrumental in my becoming a man.

Next up is Sherri, who might be the original diva. Has the looks and the talent, but I can't vote for her because at Summerslam 90, the way she looked literally gave me nightmares for a week.

ONLY Summerslam '90? Sickeningly enough, Shawn Michaels had more sex appeal to male fans than Sherri did.

Sable is an interesting choice in that at the time we saw her as a great wrestler, but in hindsight Maria could give her a run for her money. Boobsboobsboobsboobs. Boobs, Boobsboobsboobs! And her work with the Oddities SUCKED.

Chyna I'm not convinced is female so that's a no.

Incidentally, the X-Pac sex tape nearly sent me BACK into pre-pubescence.

Stephanie, I'm sorry Bex but she couldn't wrestle a stuffed animal and win. Not sure if you were watching at the time, but for the most part one of the McMahon-Helmsley cronies would help her win. She was ok. But yeah, her status as "upper management" takes her out of the diva running, barely.

Torrie and Maria I'll group together and say pass me the Playboy, because I'd rahter read the articlesthan watch either of them wrestle. When your signature move is a stink face, I don't care how good you look, that doesn't work for me.

And pass me the box of tissues.

Read the artciles? KB = Full Of Shit.

I'd take Trish over Lita. Trish had a more diva-attitude, from day one. And I am with you on fire-crotches. LOVE 'EM!

And yet, here I am leaning towards Sunny. She was the first true WWF Diva - awesome mic work, athleticism, sex appeal, etc. She was such a great part of the business in her time, and she showed on the 800th Raw that she still looks great!

It's between Sunny and Trish for my vote, with Lita running third. But if whomever I vote for wins, I'll gladly have a live sex celebration with Lita.

I was about to vote for Miss Liz, until I stopped and realize that title has the word "Diva" and not "Lady" in it, so therefore, I decided to vote for the true first Diva of professional wrestling: Sunny.

WWF never had any sexual tension in its program until Sunny came along. And they didn't even try to go that route with her when she first joined, but she was so amazingly beautiful and sexy, that they couldn't help it. She also had the charisma, grace, and talking skills of a true diva. Sure, she couldn't wrestle worth shit, but what does wrestling in the ring had to do with being a diva?

HAS to be sunny. I do belive that was the first female I actually had depraved sexuaql thoughts about in my lifetime. I was in love with that woman in my young male adolescence. and THEN...

I recently was watching my SummerSlam anthology, and came upon SS 97, were tqwo women were helping todd petting zoo do a sweepstakes, some dumb shit.

and I, grown man NorCal, said out loud "WHO the fuck is THAT GIRL"....

Sunny. She is even hotter now that I know what im looking at. Holy damn shit. My all time favorite, easily, and a forerunner to what we have today.

I'm going with Lita. While she may have been outshine when it comes to title reigns by Trish, there is no denying at the peak of Lita's popularity she was one over bitch. She was a huge fan favorite, and was one of the first WWE diva's to take risky bumps like she did.

Then she managed one of the greatest tag teams of the attitude era and was a part of the hugely over stable Team Extreme. Then add on the Rated Edge era, where regardless of the reasons she was a huge heat magnet getting boo'd to know end while helping Edge.

There is no denying Trish is the poster child of the WWE, but I'm voting Lita.

Hon Mentions: Sunny was a huge face in the WWE back in the 1990's. While she never really wrestled(and actually has been quoted saying she really isn't fond of women's wrestling)there is no denying she was popular. She was a great manager and was even the most looked at celebrity on the internet in 1996 or 1997(beating Pam Anderson).

Sherri & Miss Elizabeth were two great managers and are ranked right up there as well. Steph is also a big figure in the WWE but her lack of wrestling skills and such cancells her out.

Chyna also deserves some recognition because hate her or love her, she really made women's wrestlers seem legit in the WWE. Because of Chyna the women weren't look as weak and lesser to the males and Chyna deserves some recognition.

I'm sorrry but Maria & Torrie Wilson are laughable being on this list. Mickie James is the better wrestler and more popular than thoes two(and I'm not even a Mickie Fan)

Torrie Wilson is not the best wrestler on the list.

She did not have the best characters, angles, and gimmicks.

That being said, I have tossed an army large enough to take over the entire universe into socks and towels thinking about her. I'm sorry, I think she is the hottest thing to ever live, and with the Divas, I think that may be the most important thing ever.

Seriously, I voted Torrie because I love her. I should have voted Miss Elizabeth, but I will live with my decision, knowing that maybe Torrie will read it and marry me.

Remember baby, I'm am three hours due south of the Woodlands. Same state baby. I'll be waiting.

Since those are the only choices, I'm inclined to go with Trish Stratus. She's beautiful, is a multi-time Women's Champion, and does great face and heel work. However, I don't consider any of these divas "The Greatest of All Time." Imo, the late, great Fabulous Moolah is the Greatest of All Time. She held the Women's Championship for nearly 30 years; read that again. 30 years is mind-blowing. Moolah had to be doing something right to keep the strap for 27 years. An interesting fact about that reign is the fact is that WWE marketed it as the longest reign by any individual in any sport. Granted, Pro Wrestling is fake, but It's still one of the most athletic things you can do, even in the less flashy 50's. Oh, and she's also the oldest person in Pro Wrestling history to win a championship, at 76 years old.

god dammit, I had this nice long response drawn out, but then my computer died, fuck.

So basically in a nutshell, in my other post I had said that since there is not a constant variable telling me to find the greatest female performer of all time, the most influential female of all time, or just to pick my favorite female from the list, I decided to pick the greatest performer from the list. I can not pick the most influential of all time, because even if women from other promotions that did not work for WWE did not make the list (IE Mildred Burke) the absence of such women like Mae Young and Moolah from the list make that question working with the current roster into a joke.

Only half the list of women have worked individual matches (or at least matches that were any good) Sherri, Chya, Trish, Sable, and Lita

I explained in my other post that Chyna was not particularly strong in the psychology department, and that even though she displayed good psychology Sable sometimes had trouble executing a solid, realistic looking match. Despite both Sherri and Lita having good psychology and workrate, both women struggled with carrying their opponents and hiding their weaknesses, especially if their opponent was quite terrible. Trish was the only woman to be a complete package, she had a great knowledge of psychology, could sell, had great workrate, and could every opponent to the best to the worst look like a million bucks.

If I had adequate information to go on, these would be my picks

most influential: Mildred Burke (without her, women's wrestling wouldn't exist)

biggest token pretty face: (toss up between Sunny and Sable really) I'd pick Sable

best performer from the list: Trish

my overall pick from the list: Trish

It has to be either Lita or Trish Stratus, They are the two stand alone out of the ones selected. But i am going to have to say Lita here, She isnt (should say wasnt) one of those ditzy stuck up grunting Divas we have nowadays. She was crazy doing stuff that was Rarely seen by Divas. She also didnt care how her character went. as when she retired and was made out to be a ****. She was the greatest Diva in my eyes. the only thing that puts me off of her is the tattoos unfortunatley.

I am going to go with Lita because she revolutionzed the Diva's division with her high-flying style. She was always fun to watch in the ring and the one thing I will always admire about her is when she took that beating from Stone Cold and Triple H in 2001. Most divas wouldn't take a bump like that and to have her in that ring and agreeing to let them two beat the shit out of her shows courage that I haven't seen anywhere else. I loved her when she was with Edge and I'm sad to see how she went out but she will always be the #1Diva in my book.

If it's a Diva then I guess it doesn't really relate to wrestling ability. It'll relate to which one you've jerked over more. Which is easily Sunny. Forget all this Trish Stratus or Sable bullshit. Sunny was the original Diva. Liz was very pretty, but she was soooo boring. You'd show her to your mum, but you wouldn't bend her over a bus shelter. Nice but dim.

Trish? Wonky nose.
Lita? Jawline like Old Chyna.
Chyna? Jawline like a superhero.
Miss Elizabeth? Dullard.
Sensational Sherri? I've seen sexier children.
Sable? If she was really that attractive then she wouldn't have been sexed by Marc Mero.
Torrie Wilson? I'll give her this, her run was more intresting than the whole career of Hardcore Holly.
Stephanie McMahon? Natural looking? Yeah, great natural looking tits.

My heart tells me to vote for Lita because she is my all time favorite diva, but logic tells me I have to vote for Chyna. I'm honestly shocked that I have given her her only vote thus far. The woman was an Intercontinental champion, for God's sake! We will probably never see a female hold man's title ever again. And it was believeable at the time.
Forget all the bullshit she has been famous for since leaving the wrestling business. Forget the drugs, the porn and the Surreal Life. This woman was amazing to look at and for the short time she was involved in the business, really liked wrestling. She was build like no one else and she was so over it was almost sickening. Trish and Lita may have been better wrestlers, but they didn't have the impact that Chyna had.

Trish Stratus is the class of women's wrestling. She had it all. Trish was charismatic, absolutely beautiful, and she was a good wrestler. She was constantly over with the fans, heel or face. She's put on some classic matches with my second choice, Lita, and is a seven time champion. Vote Trish!

I'm sorry, what? Have you actually seen her wrestle? She is terrible. Look back to around 1999 when she was given the Women's Title, or look to any wrestling match she has been in. She is as good as Maria, which isn't saying much. She could sell moves, but that's about it. Her in-ring ability was limited, so you can't say she is a great wrestler for the Women's Division because she isn't, she can't be 'cause she can't wrestle.

Well, it looks like we have a tie here and surprise surprise, they're two of the most recent (and what I would feel, over-rated) of all time. Ok, Trish had boobs and a kick. But she had no opposition but Lita and Lita had pretty much crippled herself by the end of that.

Sunny oozed sexuality and used it to get her guys over in the match. I grew up with Trish and Lita... but Sunny was better

You know, I automatically ook at that list and narrow it down to Trish and Lita. All of the others on the list d not have the same talent. And I agree with KB in saying that I have never seen a Women's match go main event. Not to mention the match was amazing.

overall, Trish was around for a longer perid of time, due mainly in part to Lita's injuries as well as her constant managing of superstars. WHile it is close, Trish takes the cake.
