Well, at least Windham made it to the second round. Here's where it ends though. Windham was a great, and sometimes underappreciated wrestler, but he's up against the Living Legend here. Windham was always a very credible and respectable challenger to a world champion. Bruno was a world champion for 11 years over two reigns. Easy vote for Bruno.

Barry Windham was a great hand in the ring, but a transitional champion at best. He regularly lost to bigger names like Flair and Dusty Rhodes. Bruno was a massive draw and has more than a decade of time as WWWF champion in his title reigns.

Iconic legend vs role player. Advantage Bruno.

Windham had brushes with the World Title in his career, and Bruno basically owned the World Title. I loved watching Windham, and glad he got to the second round, but Bruno moves on convincingly.

The location probably should have a bit of an effect here, but even so Sammartino is a beast and fully deserving of going through. He's just better than Windham in all and every way.

Barry Windham was good, and tends to be underrated by alot of wrestling fans but he hasn't got a hope in hell of beating Sammartino. There aren't many you'd say could beat Bruno so early in this tournament, and unfortunately for Barry, he ain't good enough.
