AJ Lee's "Pipe Bomshell": Keep It All Here!!!

Although Total Divas is my new guilty pleasure i gotta side with the champ here.... Shes entertained me more in her post WM28 career than the total divas cast ever has combined (sorry nattie)....

WWE is making it seemed like AJ just gave her very own pipebomb.... Obviously not on the same level but it was great on diva standards..... She talked about how she had to struggle while the total divas are being given opportunities because they are in the middle of their 15 min of fame, how they sucked..... Up to the right people (ummmm that was awkward right Nikki and brie?) and how they are wannabe actresses while AJ is a true wrestler

I want to see this dominate the divas division for the forseeable future.... Just like her ex fighting the gauntlet id like to see AJ take on all the total divas one by one..... And beat them all

AJ is basically feuding with 7 divas, no one has done that since Cena took on the Nexus..... Will she survive with the belt, I hope so.....

Thoughts on this new storyline going foward?

AJ put on a great promo that didn't get the recognition it deserved. Haven't gotten this interested in the division since Kharma (Awesome Kong). I would have taken it a step further with the promo, and she still can. AJ needs to drop that bs looking "Divas Title" and bring back a "woman's title". AJ can actually wrestle but hasn't been able to show her skills becuz of the "Barbie Divas" (Minus Natalie and Naomi who can actually wrestle if given the chance). Katilyn, Rosa, Layla and Tamika haven't been given the chance to put on great matches together. I'm not talk no 2-4 minute intermission type bs either. I say they create that Alliance against those "Total Divas". Have an actual storyline that doesn't involve love or sex for once. But this is all wishful thinking. Lets just wait and see how this plays out.

Its interesting that they're going this route because she is the biggest divas heel and she basically said all of the same stuff that Bryan is which has helped him get so over. She was getting some cheers too so I see her doing something big to keep her heel.

AJ's promo was very good and I found myself agreeing with pretty much everything she was saying. Judging by the reaction of the live crowd, I wasn't the only one. Maybe WWE was hoping for some sort of different reaction to her promo, but I really don't know how they realistically could when you take what she said and look at the accuracy of so much of it.

Natalya is strong inside the ring technically and Naomi is madly athletic, which can honestly make her almost like a female Kofi Kingston bouncing around inside the ring. When she used the terms "interchangeable" and "useless", The Bella Twins and Eva Marie are the first two that came to my mind. Watching the Divas in the ring try to sell AJ's promo as boring and the Bellas outside trying to say she's jealous may have been the only reaction they could have given, but nobody was buying it. There was simply too much truth and too much logic in what she was saying.

It was nice to see AJ ditch the "crazy chick" persona here and really remind everyone of just how charismatic and good on the mic she really can be. The "crazy chick" stuff can be entertaining but I'm glad we saw a more serious side to her on Raw last night. Unfortunately, I ultimately see this ending with AJ dropping the title to one of the Total Divas. As I said, Natalya can be really good in the ring but the girl is about as charismatic as her old man was, which isn't saying much. The Bella Twins barely have the in-ring skill to apply a standard side headlock and their schtick of being the hot, mean spirited twins is about as fresh as stale bread.

we heard reports months back that the divas division was going to get more exposure.

so we've seen:

1. AJ really created a unique character for herself and unlike some other divas AJ can actually tell a story. She actually makes you pay attention while some of the others can't keep you looking at anything other than their T&A.

2. New divas are getting promoted to the main roster more often (JoJo, Eva, Summer Rae, etc)

3. A Divas reality show that is crushing the ratings (which by the way, is just more proof that people are interested in the "off screen" characters of WWE wrestlers)

4. Natalia is also becoming a fan favorite thanks to her portrayal on the reality series.

IMO i think that this is the best time for a diva in recent history. This division is getting more national exposure thanks to Total Divas then it's ever seen. There will be tremendous opportunities for all divas going forward and any storyline that combines a unique character like AJ with the hit reality show Total Divas is going to draw a lot of eyes where it didn't before.

Fantastic promo from AJ. She just keeps hammering home just how talented she is in all aspects of the business. I found myself getting annoyed with the Bella's constant talking over AJ's promo. It just made them seem even weaker as that is all they were reduced to. They should have been just like Natalia, the Funkadactlys and JoJo and just kept quiet while looking pissed.

AJ's promo was excellent, not for a Diva or any of that just a flat out excellent promo from a wrestler. Will be interesting to see where they go with it, none of the women she was talking to can hold a candle to her (Natalya in the ring but not on the mic) so this could be leading to some fresh blood coming in to the Diva's division hopefully.

NXT has a great female roster at present, could be time for some call ups very soon.

Final note on the promo, the Bellas need to be told to never shout like that near the hard camera for that length of time again. It was distracting from the promo and headache inducing

I thought it was a very well done promo, it worked so well because the majority of it was true. I can see this going one of two ways but it depends on who AJ faces at Night of Champions. If she faces Natalya she can still work heel, but if they give the title shot to one of the Bellas I can see a scenario where the crowd is more for AJ because I think fans in general really don't care for the Bellas anyway, so you could see a little bit of a face turn, but probably more in the realm of a tweener.

The last thing I want them to do is turn AJ face. She's incredible just as she is, and has been a much needed breath of fresh air in the women's division.

Certainly there are those rare wrestlers -- Christian, Jericho, Punk and Bryan to name a few -- who are able to excel in any role they're given, but when's the last time a female wrestler was that good? Trish Stratus? As good as AJ is on the mic, she might be able to make the transition, but I see no reason to risk it while she's still fresh.

So many wrestlers are great in a single role, but as soon as they're switched, they flounder. R-Truth was highly entertaining as a schitzophrenic heel, but he's unbelievably boring as a face. Jeff Hardy on the other hand is a born face; he cannot and should not ever be a heel. TNA tried it and it was awful.

To use an old adage, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It was nice to see AJ ditch the "crazy chick" persona here and really remind everyone of just how charismatic and good on the mic she really can be.

It's also good that Creative realized the "crazy chick" gimmick wasn't going to play as well with women opposing her; AJ's whole schtick featured her as a lovesick puppy around the guys whom she plotted against once they scorned her. Once she started working with divas, she was more aloof than vengeful; still skipping around the arena, but her craziness wasn't directed at a particular target; she simply fought whomever they put in front of her. Even having Layla as a partner didn't seem to be anything AJ desired; it was just a convenient way to have someone on her side.

Now, AJ has thrown down the gauntlet; she's turned her energies at a specific target.....essentially, everyone female. Since the charges she is tossing are true, she's functioning much like a female Daniel Bryan; a little guy looking to take down the big ones. Daniel was a bad guy for a long time, until his dealings and alliances forced the fans to gather on his side......the same may yet happen to AJ; she didn't seem as wicked last night (meaning she didn't seem as crazy) and if she's got the goods to put everyone in their place, she just might turn face, too.....picking up and discarding allies in her quest to conquer.

It's an understatement to say the diva division has long needed direction. Now, they've got one.....and management has picked exactly the right gal to lead it. The next months are going to be interesting.

I thought this was the best part of the show. I almost used the Divas segment to go to the Kitchen, but I'm glad I waited til commercial. I was amazed because I was just thinking about how stupid the Divas division has become especially since they have this BS new show. The show would be interesting if it wasn't so worked. Natalya did become what she is today because of her name. The Bellas did suck....up to the right people and they are all a bunch of stupid, replaceable, non talented women who aren't good enough to be actresses. It's like AJ took what everyone thought about the Divas division and voiced it. I did like the fact that she said "women" several times. It did make me think it would be pretty cool to see the Women's Championship brought back. Another think I loved about this segment was the fact that she was talking to both the faces and the heels. Then the Total Divas stupid remarks like "say it to my face", when she clearly did, just drover he point home that much more. And the way they acted like a bunch of clowns proved AJ right as well. I do not want to see this turn into AJ siding with anyone else. I want to see AJ get pushed and defeat ever Diva on the roster and maybe set a record for longest reigning Divas Champ in history(since the history of the Women's Championshio doesn't apply).

It was quite reminiscent of CM Punk's promo a couple of years ago. AJ was speaking a lot of truth and echoing some of the sentiments that a lot of fans feel towards Total Divas and their stars. If you know AJ's background, she did have a very difficult time getting to where she is today, and she has earned it a lot more than the Total Divas stars. AJ is humble, smart and a great wrestler and deserves more success than the likes of the Bellas. So I'm glad WWE let AJ cut the promo and I'm hoping they capitalise on it.

Speaking of the Bellas, they nearly ruined the promo for me with their damn shouting. Christ, do you always have to be speaking? Will the world end if you shut your mouths for two damn seconds?

Remember when Punk dropped that awesome pipe bomb promo, and had a legitimate gripe, something that hasn't been seen in the WWE until this recent Bryan storyline? Remember how awesome that was?

Now imagine during he promo, John Cena was doing his you can't see me schtick in the ring. Would kind of take you out of the moment, yes? It would sort of belittle Punk.

That's exactly what the Bella's squaking did for AJ's promo.

That's also the direction of this angle. Let's get this straight, it's going to be one of the Bella Twins. They're seen as the stars of the show, they're the two WWE wants to push, and they're the ones that have the most clout. Which means, in spite of how awful they come across, they'll be the ones to always get the last laugh.

On the Bellas shouting over the promo so much and being massively annoying. Part of me thinks they knew exactly what they were doing with that, as in not wanting to share their Total Divas spotlight so trying to spoil the promo

It's hard to disagree with AJ on that promo. Outside of Natalya who can actually get in the ring and go there isn't a single one of those Diva's who actually have a shred of talent, they are just there for eye candy. Not saying there's anything wrong with that but its true. The Bellas are hired because they are twins and who their boyfriends are, the Funkadactyls are there because Brodus wanted to do the Funkasaurus gimmick, Eva's there because of her look, the only one I don't have an opinion on is JoJo as she's the only diva on that show that comes off as somewhat likable.

If they are trying to turn AJ face they are doing a good job of it because truth be told the crowd is not gonna turn on AJ when it comes to this, not one bit. If anything the Diva's will get turned into heels because the crowd knows what AJ said is true. She is the only Diva on the roster that's not a bathroom break, which is why she's the only Diva since Lita and Trish who was able to stay over for more than a month. Even someone with the talent of Natalya can be switched out and no one would notice.

It's obvious they are trying to make AJ the heel and the Diva's the faces but it just won't work out that way, the fans will get more behind AJ and they will shit on the Diva's more and more. At the same time though it will probably get more people watching Total Diva's so its a win at the end of the day.

Her and Kaitlyn have put on some good PPV matches and have actually made me somewhat interested in the Divas division. I watched one clop of the Total Divas show and it looked awful. AJ's promo was fantastic and it is difficult to predict how this will help total Divas. If they make a feud out of it then more people will tune in.

Everyone knows that the Bella's are the face of the show because they are attractive and are in relationships with the two top guys in the company. The new divas are only contracted to the WWE because it is one step above porn. Natalya can actually wrestle; her, AJ and Kaitlyn make for a strong Divas division.

A feud between the Bella's and AJ could be interesting. If they allow AJ to continue her attack on Total Divas it will make this feud interesting. I suppose the end goal could be to put the WWE title on Bryan and give Brie the Divas Title.

I don't really watch much anymore but I like to come here and keep up with what's going on.
I decided to check out the promo on YouTube and I thought it was really well delivered. I understand it's scripted and everything but she did a great job of making it seem sincere.
The Bellas got on my nerves with their shouting the whole time but not enough to take away from the quality of the promo.

The promo was great but no surprise there as AJ has shown how good she is on the mic before. The surprise came in the form of the content, were WWE actually thinking the crowd would side with the Bellas and co? I can't believe they'd think that after the fans in the Staples Center took a giant dump on the Nattie vs Brie match.

My guess is WWE are fine with AJ trashing Total Divas because they know people aren't watching it because they like the girls on it. They are watching it for the same reason people watch bad B movies, it's so bad it's funny, not a second of it comes off as real.

I'm not sure if the plan was to turn AJ face (I suspect so) but the crowd were chanting her name and will back her in any feud with the Total Divas as she is the only truly over female on the roster, so hopefully they run with it but allow AJ to keep her edge like they've done with Punk during his second face turn.

Firstly I have to say I was dumbstruck and astounded at how amazingly she cut that. Im willing the bet that half the guys couldnt have cut a promo as good as she did.

Anyway quick recap of all points AJ mentioned

The divas division are a bunch of cheap women
They turned to reality tv because they werent good enough to be actresses
and werent talented enough to be champions
AJ did more in 1 yr than they did in their careers
SHE SAVED THE DIVAS DIVISION
The rest of them are cheap plastic mannequins
They were all handed their 15 minutes of fame
They (Natalya) came from a wrestling family.
They (Bellas) sucked up to the right people
And this is my favorite. You can walk all the red carpets in your 400 dollar heels but u arent good enough to lace up my chuck taylors.

Frankly speaking each and everything she said was true. Except the natalya coming from a family part which is true but she had to go through several tryouts to get into the WWE.

Reason for my writing this isnt because of what AJ said but what the others did.

They proved without a doubt that they are exactly what AJ said. Poor actresses. Nobody stresses on the fact that while AJ was delivering her promo, the should made the appropriate facial expressions (like Natalya did) instead of making idiotic hand gestures and just screaming nonsensical BS while shes doing her promo. I dont know about you but I had a hard time concentrating on what AJ said because of the stupid 'Say it to my face' or 'You're jealous' lines which were repeated over and over and over again.

If it werent true before AJ just proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that AJ is miles ahead of any other diva in the division. The only one who comes close is Kaitlyn. She had a nice feud with her. And I cant say anything about natalya because well shes never had that big chance offered to her.

Anyway, ur thoughts. Not on AJ's promo but about the rest of the divas and their godawful acting and tactics while the promo was being cut.

You can believe two things out of this...

1) AJ's legit gripe with being off of Total Divas was brought to light in a worked shoot where she was allowed to voice the things she said. Because it's true. Even though I've not watched the show, the highlights tell me they're pretty much useless in the ring. Besides Natalya, none of the Total Divas belong in a wrestling ring. It's bad for wrestling and it's alienating an audience that wants to come back to wrestling, but sees this crap and stays away from it.

2) Most of those girls aren't that good at acting, so it's safe to say The Bella Twins, their red-headed friend, Natalya, and the Funkadactyls are showing their truer colors. And since that's the case, the promo was much needed, because even though the stupid Bella's were being obnoxious and did their best to bury that promo, it still didn't work and many actually appreciate AJ saying that stuff.

The rest of the Total Divas cast are an abomination to wrestling and in a different era, wouldn't have jobs.

I was frankly pissed by how the Bella's and whoever the idiot with them was...so let me get this straight the person holding the belt that should mean damn near everything to you just came out and completely trashed everything you have ever done or will do in the business and you're response...is to skip around in circles? Natalya was the only one with a semi-reasonable reaction when she was cutting the promo, somewhere between angry and disgusted by what she said. The rest though where acting like children being bullied on the playground and it was just stupid.

AJ was amazing she has single handedly salvaged a dead division and by herself give people a reason to care about it. It's a shame there is no one else worth giving a damn about in it other than her.
