EB's Wrestling Journal: What I think about TNA's last PPV and the last few Impacts!

Disclaimer- Please do not read this if you are a wrestling mark because you will not agree with ANYTHING I have to say. I define a mark as a little kid or woman who likes Cena or Orton because they are "cool" or "look hot" and not because of anything relevant like their actual ability to wrestle. If you do read my posts you will notice that I tend to favor the guys that can actually wrestle and I am a very pro heel guy, so just a warning before you move on with the reading...

Hello everyone,

MY name is Erik Bryant and I am starting my own little wrestling journal on this forum. I have been watching wrestling for 25 years and am a die hard wrestling fan. I even went to the power plant and was there in late 1999 through early 2000 trying to be a part of the profession I love so much and actually got to work the indy circuits for awhile. That is something that not many of my friends or family actually knew about me, but anyways just wanted to give a brief background.... I would still like to get in the business some how, but at 31 years old I would probably have to settle for being a ref or announcer, but anyway I can get in would be fine with me!

Well for those of you who have been reading my column may have noticed by now is that I have primarily been talking about the WWE, but since it is the summertime and most of the television networks are showing reruns which means I don't have to flip back and forth between Impact Wrestling and the Office because me and my wife both like that show, but anyway I have been able to watch the last few editions of Impact, but before I talk about that I would like to summarize TNA's last PPV: Sacrifice.....

I have noticed from what I read and from what little I have actually seen from the TNA *or is it Impact Wrestling's* PPV's that their format is much like the old school NWA,WWF and WCW PPV's because they start with the preliminary matches that not many people if anybody really cares to see on PPV and then they work themselves up to the high profile matches. Mexican America beat Ink Inc. in the first match which wasn't that bad because it was a way to get Mexican America on a PPV and get them a PPV victory which I think is good because I like the MA tag team and I think they can be built up to be future tag team champs. I also think that using Ink Inc. to get them a win was smart because in my opinion that's about all that tag team is good for is to help other teams get wins and elevate their careers because Moore and Neal really aren't that great of a team to me, but I guess they are suppose to appeal to young girls who like young punkers with tatoos and piercings.... Typical segment after the match where Karen Angle tried to get out of the match with Chyna and Mick Foley wasn't having it.... Good X Divison match between Brian Kendrick and Robbie E., but it was more like an Impact match than a PPV bout, but again glad to see Kendrick getting used a little and winning PPV matches.... Mickey James kept her Title and earned Tara her "freedom" from Madison Rayne which was pretty predictable as was Kazarian keeping the X Division title from Max Buck... I like the young team of Generation Me, but as single wrestlers they really don't stand out to me as much as they do together. I think that they need to be used more on TV as a tag team until they get over enough to be singles competitors ie the Rockers or London and Kendrick.... I don't say this too often about a wrestler anymore, but I am actually very impressed with Crimson and the match with Abyss I thought was pretty good given the contrast in the two men's style. I think TNA has definitely found a good wrestler in Crimson I just hope they don't ruin him *you know they will!* It was nice to see them bring back "Wildcat" Chris Harris, but you knew that he and Matt Hardy were not gonna take those tag belts from Beer Money, who I also think are two phenomenal talents that TNA has, but they aren't always used well either, but that's another story for another day.... Dreamer beating Styles was sort of a shock to me I guess because I was use to him being the weekly jobber in ECW, no not the good ECW, that watered down crap put on by the WWE, but still Dreamer went months without a win and now he is beating Styles at a PPV? I guess they were trying to help build Dreamer a little in TNA, but I guess all that was for not because I read right here on wrestlezone that Tommy was done with TNA, so there goes that idea... The Angle/Chyna vs. The Jarretts match was like a novelty match with a celebrity or someone who has come back into the industry after taking a break and comes back for a Wrestlemania match in WWE because it was typical that the person coming in or coming back finally gets in the match and gets the win kinda like how they did Snooki at WM 27, but it was good seeing Chyna back in the ring, it's just a shame that in order to see Chyna anymore after this you either have to watch an old WWE PPV or go to your local porn shop to see her in action, literally! The Main Event was fine, but I'm not a huge fan of Sting being the World Champion in a federation that actually has good young talent and guys like Angle and Mr. Anderson who are over well with the fans and are extremely marketable, of course I've never been a real Sting fan anyway, but may just be me.... In all I think it was a 2 star PPV because they just had too many matches that I could either see on SpikeTV Thursday Night's or matches with predictable outcomes....

Well my thoughts on the last few weeks of TNA are basically summarized like this: I love ODB and I'm glad she's back and beating up that barbie doll, Velvet Sky! Angle is still stuck in this ridiculous program with Jarrett, Crimson is an awesome talent and should go far if given the right oppurtunities, The Foley is fired thing was a bad way to end a decent Impact last week, I've always liked Mr. Anderson since the days he was a Kennedy and him dressing up like old school Sting is both brilliant as well as hilarious!
