Why was the WWE Divas Era hated by the WWE Universe?

It was the era that most of WWE's female talents were former fitness and swimsuit models as opposed to today where most of WWE's female talents came from the independent wrestling scene and MMA?

I think wrestling fans today hate the divas era because it the cool thing to do. Let's face it, most of those that hate the era, where fans of them back in the day.

You think of the diva's era, You have so many Top stars that came out of that era, it wasn't just about fitness and swimsuit models. You had a lot of great talents as well. Just look at who came out of that Era, Trish Stratus(Fitness model), Lita, Victoria(fitness model), Molly Holly, melina, Beth Phoenix, Gail Kim, Michelle McCool(Model), Kathlyn(model) Eve torres(model), The bella twins(models), A.J Lee and that's just a small simple of the superstars that's era of women'S wrestling created.

In the end, those that didn't live through that era don't realize how big in talent the era of wrestling had and all they think this era was about is fitness and swimsuit model that didn't care about wrestling when in reality, a lot of those same fitness model where very passionate about the business and became some of the greatest superstars in women's wrestling history it's just that the term diva isn't well receive with those fans.

I didn't hate it, but there was potential that was completely wasted in favor of treating most of them only as a sideshow act.
