Welcome to the first edition of these 'Daily News Roundups'. What is this? It's simple really. A roundup of major news around the wrestling world, all resumed here for you. If there are news articles that are discussed in a different part of this forum, they will be linked here for you to follow and comment on. We'll also round out other content in our forums currently, as well as note any television shows coming up.

This thread is to be handled by your benevolent WZF Admin, so while I'd welcome kind words, corrections and the like, I kindly ask that any updates of the sort be done by me. With that in mind, lets start this!!

*** The rumors regarding Daniel Bryan and John Cena's participation at WWE's controversial 'Crown Jewel' have seemingly been debunked after Raw and Smackdown not only continued to promote the World Cup tournament and AJ Styles/Daniel Bryan match, but doubled down on it's promotion on Smackdown. Originally the story was broken by Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports with the likes of John Pollock of POST Wrestling as well as Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer indicating there is unease in the locker room but there are no real answers about Bryan, Cena or anyone actually bowing out of the event. Raw and Smackdown have seemingly gone ahead with the idea that all their promoted stars (minus obviously Roman Reigns) will do the 'Crown Jewel' event which is still slated to take place in Saudi Arabia.

*** The Undertaker is scheduled for 'Rise Of The Taker'. A series of sitdown Q&A shows produced by Inside The Rope's Kenny McIntosh to take place through the UK on 4/30 in London, 5/1 in Glasgow & 5/2 in Manchester. These dates happen to match up quite well with WWE's annual post-Wrestlemania European tour.

*** 205 Live will have it's 100th episode tonight.

**** Brian Pillman Jr vs Tommy Dreamer has been added to the MLW Fightland tapings on November 2nd from Chicago.

**** ROH has announced the following line-up for the upcoming 'Global Wars' tour with NJPW:

**** NXT UK will air today at 3pm EST on the WWE Network. The main event will be Tyler Bate vs Wolfgang. El Ligero will face Mike Hitchman, Dakota Kai will face Killer Kelly and Zack Gibson will have a promo.

**** WWE 205 Live will air tonight at 8 EST on the WWE Network. The main event will be a 'Falls Count Anywhere' match between Mustafa Ali & Hideo Itami. Mike Kanellis will make his in-ring debut as well.

**** WWE NXT TV will air tonight at 9 EST following 205 Live on the WWE Network. With Aleister Black returning last week, he demanded Nikki Cross tell him who was that attacked him. This week, the name will be revealed. Mia Yim will make her NXT TV debut and William Regal will have an announcement regarding the NXT Championship for Takeover: WarGames.

**** The Mae Young Classic 2018 has it's final episode tonight at 10 EST following NXT on the WWE Network. The two Semi-Final round matches will lead into the Finals that will take place this sunday at 'WWE Evolution': Io Shirai vs Rhea Ripley & Toni Storm vs Meiko Satomura.

**** Total Divas will air tonight at 9pm EST on E!. They go to Miami to celebrate Nia Jax and Natalya's birthdays. Nikki Bella flirts with a bartender.

**** A replay of 'Road To Evolution' will air following Total Divas.

Update for 10/25/18

**** WWE has confirmed, without any doubt, that 'Crown Jewel' will take place in Rihyadh, Saudi Arabia as scheduled via press release.:

"WWE has operated in the Middle East for nearly 20 years and has developed a sizable and dedicated fan base. Considering the heinous crime committed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the Company faced a very difficult decision as it relates to its event scheduled for November 2 in Riyadh. Similar to other U.S.-based companies who plan to continue operations in Saudi Arabia, the Company has decided to uphold its contractual obligations to the General Sports Authority and stage the event. Full year 2018 guidance is predicated on the staging of the Riyadh event as scheduled."

On their Third Quarter conference call later today, Vince McMahon dodged any question regarding the subject.

**** Hulk Hogan teased being involved with Crown Jewel and Wrestlemania. Nothing has been officially confirmed though, brother.

**** NJPW oficially removed Will Ospreay from 'Power Struggle', cancelling opponent Taichi's NEVER Openweight title defense. (MORE HERE)

**** It was announced by WWE.com that Mustafa Ali will be facing DJZ and Darby Allin at upcoming EVOLVE events. He will face DJZ on November 9 from Livonia, MI for EVOLVE 115 and Darby Allin on November 10 from Oak Lawn, IL (Chicago area) for EVOLVE 116.

**** It was also announced that Kassius Ohno, who worked for EVOLVE and other promotions as Chris Hero will be featured on EVOLVE 117 and 118.

**** Jim Ross is going into surgery to remove small bits of skin cancer from his shoulder today. The procedure is expected to be minor and he will be set for the Jericho Cruise this Saturday.

**** Tom Lawlor vs Sami Callihan in a Street Fight was added to the MLW Fightland taping following an attack by Callihan on Lawlor on a press event.

**** Impact Wrestling airs tonight at its new timeslot of 10pm EST on POP TV. The main event will be Fenix challenging Johnny Impact for the Impact World Championship. Wrestling legend Gama Singh will also face his student Rohit Raju. KM and Fallah Bahh will take on Killer Kross and Moose.

**** Puertorican promotion WWL will present it's weekly 'High Voltage' episode tonight at 9 AST/8 EST via Facebook Live. The Westside Mafia are off looking for their manager/friend/faithboy El Nazareno. Their adventure takes them to some very odd places. Just in time for Halloween. **** NJPW's 'Road To Power Struggle' continues tomorrow morning at 5:30am EST via NJPW World. Their Jr Tag League continues as Bullet Club Firing Squad (Robbie Eagles & Taiji Ishimori) face Los Ingobernables De Japon (Shingo Takagi & BUSHI), Soberano Jr & Volador Jr vs Jr Tag Champs Suzuki-Gun (Yoshinobu Kanemaru & El Desperado) and New Time Splitters (Chris Sabin & KUSHIDA) vs Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask.

**** The Boxing Day MSG show has added a big match to its card in the form of Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins in a Steel Cage Match. This is a Raw match on what is mostly a Smackdown card but will also include NXT stars. The show will take place on December 26 at Madison Square Garden. The card is as follows:

• Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose – Steel Cage match for the Intercontinental Championship
• Braun Strowman vs. Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre – 1 On 2 Handicap match
• RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Mickie James
• Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley
• Johnny Gargano, Pete Dunne, Ricochet, Aleister Black & Velveteen Dream vs. The Undisputed Era & Tommaso Ciampa

**** According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bobby Lashley is working with a lingering shoulder injury.

**** Despite being far more involved in his work with Impact Wrestling, Don Callis is slated to continue his color commentator position for NJPW. There is no confirmation as to which event's he will be calling aside of Wrestle Kingdom 13.
