The way i see it, wrestling right now is split in multiple category depending on which company you watch. None of the philosophy is worst then the other but it depends on what you like

The first category is modern sports entertainment aka modern wrestling. That's category mostly incuded AEW and impact wrestling. They're not doing wrestling, in their head, it's all about doing as many move as humaninly possible and even if they look fake because they will get the crowd to pop and chant at everything. They also don't mind doing comedy and everybody can be a wrestler in that category.

The second category is mainstream sports entertainment. That's pretty much anything WWE including NXT. In that category, the IWC doesn't exist and aren't important. It's all about the mainstream audience and attention, which wwe really care about. So it's going to be micromanage to a ridiculous degree to make sure they don't offend anybody.

The third category is old school wrestling: that's the smallest feds like the NWA and ROH. In that category, the old way of booking wrestling is predominant. They care more about the psychology and the storytelling then to be flamboyant and always going 100 miles per hour on everything. They let thing breath a lot more then in those in the first category.

The fourth category is international wrestling. That's pretty much everybody in the international scene.

The last category is what jim cornette calls the outlaw mudshow. That's those small feds that realy don't care about anything outside of getting paid. It included all the deathmatch feds
